Accessibility

This page covers accessibility of this website and physical access to the practice, states the limitations we know about, and explains how to ask for an adjustment.

If something here does not answer your question, contact the practice and ask. Nobody should have to work out whether they can attend by guessing.

The short version

We aim to meet WCAG 2.2 Level AA on this website and we do not claim to have fully achieved it. Known gaps are listed further down this page, in full.

The practice is on the first floor at 10 Glenroy Road. [CONFIRM: lift access status and availability during consulting hours.]

Interpreters, including Auslan interpreters, can be arranged at no cost to you with reasonable notice. Assistance animals are welcome. Longer appointments, written information in alternative formats, and a support person attending with you are all available on request and do not need to be justified.

To request any adjustment, phone 0404 342 222 or email info@tajmeelcliniq.com.au before your appointment. Tell us what would help. You do not need to disclose a diagnosis.

01  /  Standard

Our commitment, and
the standard we work to

Access to health services is a right, and this practice treats it that way.

The Disability Discrimination Act 1992 makes it unlawful to discriminate in the provision of services on the basis of disability, and the Equal Opportunity Act 2010 applies in Victoria alongside it. Those obligations are the minimum. This practice aims higher.

For this website

We work to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines version 2.2 at Level AA. That is the standard referenced by Australian government digital guidance and the benchmark most reasonably resourced organisations are expected to meet.

For the practice itself

We work to provide the same standard of care and the same experience to every patient, and to make adjustments where the physical environment or standard process would otherwise create a barrier.

We do not claim perfection in either. What we commit to is stating what is and is not accessible accurately, fixing what we can, and telling you honestly where something is outside our control.

02  /  Physical Access

Physical access
to the practice

Level 1, 10 Glenroy Road, Glenroy VIC 3046

If physical access is a barrier for you, contact the practice before booking. An honest answer that the practice cannot accommodate a specific need is more useful than a wasted trip, and we will give you that answer if it is the true one.

TO BE CONFIRMED BEFORE PUBLISHING

These facts must be answered accurately before this page goes live. Someone will travel here relying on them.

This information will be stated plainly here once confirmed, including if the answer limits access, because someone deciding whether to travel here needs the real answer.

TAXI AND RIDESHARE

Wheelchair accessible taxi services operate in Melbourne and can be booked in advance. If you need assistance between the vehicle and the consulting room, tell us when you book and we will arrange for someone to meet you.

03  /  Communication

Communication support
and interpreters

Available at no cost to you. Arranging one is never in question; how quickly we can confirm it depends on interpreter availability, so give us as much notice as you can, ideally a week.

Interpreters, including Auslan

Using a family member or friend to interpret is not appropriate for a medical consultation involving consent. The discussion covers risks, alternatives and specific clinical detail, and consent obtained through an informal interpreter is not properly informed consent. This is explained further on Informed Consent.

National Relay Service

If you are deaf or have a hearing or speech impairment, contact us through the National Relay Service at accesshub.gov.au or on 1300 555 727, and ask for 0404 342 222.

Written information

Anything discussed at consultation can be provided in writing. Large print is available on request. If you need a specific format, ask and we will do what we can.

Plain language

Every patient gets clinical discussion in plain language here, by default, with nobody needing to ask for it. If something is unclear, say so and it will be explained differently.

Extra time

Standard consultations run 30 to 45 minutes. If you need longer, whether for communication, processing, comfort or any other reason, ask when booking and it will be scheduled. There is no additional charge for a longer appointment arranged this way.

04  /  Adjustments

Adjustments you
can request

You do not need to explain why, and you do not need to disclose a diagnosis. Telling us what would help is enough.

How to request. Phone 0404 342 222 or email info@tajmeelcliniq.com.au before your appointment. Earlier is better for anything requiring arrangement, but ask even at short notice because some things can be done immediately.

If you only realise on the day, tell reception when you arrive. Some adjustments can be made on the spot.

06  /  Honesty

Known limitations,
honestly stated

A statement that claims full compliance without listing a single known issue is describing an aspiration. This one describes an actual site. Here is where we actually are.

If you hit a barrier we have not listed, tell us. That is genuinely useful and we will fix what we can.

07  /  Assistive Tech

Assistive technology
and browser settings

This site is built to work with standard assistive technology including screen readers, screen magnifiers, speech recognition software and keyboard-only navigation.

If a specific assistive technology does not work well with this site, tell us which technology and which page, and we will investigate.

08  /  Assistance Animals

Assistance
animals

Assistance animals are welcome at the practice. You do not need to provide documentation or explain the animal’s role.

If you would like us to prepare in any way, such as providing water or arranging a particular consulting room, mention it when you book.

09  /  Feedback

Giving us
feedback

Feedback about accessibility is useful and we want it, including the uncomfortable kind.

Contact: 0404 342 222 or info@tajmeelcliniq.com.au

What helps us act on it: which page or which part of the practice, what happened or what you could not do, and what assistive technology or device you were using if relevant.

What happens next. We acknowledge feedback within two business days and respond substantively within 10 business days. If a fix will take longer, we will tell you what we are doing and when. If something cannot be fixed, you will still get an explanation of why.

10  /  Your Rights

Your rights, and where to go
if we get it wrong

Under the Disability Discrimination Act 1992 it is unlawful to discriminate against a person on the basis of disability in the provision of goods, services and facilities. The Equal Opportunity Act 2010 provides parallel protection in Victoria.

You do not need our permission and you do not need to raise it with us first.
