Questions patients ask
He will. There is no other practitioner at the clinic.
Search the public Ahpra register by name or by registration number. It shows whether the person is registered, in which profession, whether registration is current, and whether any conditions or undertakings apply.
No. A plastic surgeon holds specialist registration in surgery and performs operations. Dr Hawli holds general medical registration and works in non surgical cosmetic medicine. No surgery is performed at this practice.
No. A referral is not required to book a consultation. Some patients prefer to speak with their GP first, which is reasonable.
Whether they are registered and in what profession, what their primary qualification is, who will actually perform the procedure, who prescribes the medicine and whether that person will be present, what their experience is with the specific concern, and how complications are managed. Any practitioner should answer all of those directly.
Adverse outcomes are assessed and managed by Dr Hawli. Contact details for follow up are provided at the appointment. Where a complication requires care beyond the scope of this practice, referral is arranged.
No. Suitability requires an examination and a medical history. An answer given without those would be unreliable, and giving one would not be appropriate.
As long as you want. There is no obligation to proceed at the consultation or afterwards. Many patients take several days, which is reasonable and often sensible.
A list of your current medications and any known allergies. If you have had previous cosmetic procedures, bring details of what was done and when, including any product records you were given.
